Mooie Bertus from the Barking Bunch was born on the 29/7/’97, Bertus is a son of Bonito and Minka. His half brother of previous litter "Gobbel" is a Dutch Champion. Both his paternal sires are still alive and healthy. His grandfather Baron won the veteran class at the Dutch Speciality 2004 Dog show in Zutphen at the young age of 11. Baron has had many achievements over his lifetime both in showing and obedience.
Bertus qualified to compete in Crufts in 2005,and Won the very competitive Veteran Class .In his critique Judge MrGordon Howard reported "A dog of good size. Good overall markings. Nice head and eye. Well angulated, good bone and coat. Well sprung ribcage. Good free movement " His beauty and personality are often seen to be inherited by his offspring. This gives us great confidence for the future, and now two of his daughters have been placed with the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind,as Therapy Dogs.
Some of his progeny have been exported to Norway, Holland, and the U.K. He is also the father of some exceptional progeny in Ireland ( one of his daughters has been certified 0/0 for Elbows, and 0/0 for Hips, the best possible result )
Sadly this outstanding representitive of the breed is no longer with us, Just 2 weeks short of his 8 th. Birthday ,with a very heavy heart we had to say farewell to this fantastic companion. Bertus had suffered a injury to his back and the medication perscribed affected his kidneys. In a short space of time what had been a minor injury changed to a major crisis, and despite our best efforts our fulltime companion and best friend fell victim to kidney failure, and had to leave us.
However we will always remember this Charismatic and adoreable friend and hope that his progeny will continue to exhibit his wonderfull traits.
