Our Breeding Philosophy is devoted to improve and inhance the quality and health of Bernese in Ireland. We strive to adopt a program devoted to educating and raising awareness about care and ownership of these beautifull companions. Despite constant efforts in the past to maintain and improve the breed,there are still many concerns on health matters that need attention and improvement. Responsible breeders will explain how their breeding programmes are tailored to eleviate and eliminate these problems. In raising a litter we try to establish a solid foundation on which new owners can build a healthy relationship with their puppy. All our dogs are structurally evaluated and temperament tested before they are considered suitable for breeding . We strongly believe that having invested many hours in the breeding and socialising of our puppies that it is our duty to select new homes for our puppies with great care and concern. All puppies leaving our kennels are considered to be of good quality ,otherwise they will not be sold, Bernese come in a diversity of sizes,type,and personalities and we always try to select the correct combination for both puppy and new owner.Here in Ridgewater Kennels we strive to achieve improvement ,through selection and evaluation of the maitings we plan.Our breeding programme could not exist without a nucleus of good females and stud dogs.
